I am getting a used car through a friend of a friend that flips cars from repo and police auctions. My budget is only $ 5000 and I don’t know what I’m going to end up with. I was hoping for a 07 with less than 30 thousand miles. Is this realistic?

Question by Don H: What happens if I do not pay the the balance owed on my car repo?
A few months ago I did a Voluntary REPO on my car. After the car was sold at auction I now owe 15k for the car. They have now sent my remaining balance to collections. And want me to start making monthly payments towards the balance. What happens of I do not pay the balance. I am thinking of settling but I am not sure if I should put that money toward paying that balance. What happends if I never pay anything? Will they ever write the balance off and just effect my credit report. I am trying to pay off old debt credit cards but I am thinking of paying this off first.

Answer by ndnqt1966 They can take you to court and win a judgment against you. If this happens your wages can be garnished in order to pay the balance. I would strongly recommend that you pay what you owe. Just because they wrote it off doesn’t mean they will stop in their attempts to collect.

2- Read the classified section of the paper, under ‘auctions.’

The company repo my car last week and want a deficiency payment before the end of the month. My car is not gonna be auctioned till July 26 can they ask for a deficiency payment before my car is auctioned off? I thought defiecieny is what I owe after they sell it. Please help. The company also emailed my friend on Facebook telling them what I owe and they Are not on the loan.

Answer by someone Yes they can ask for a payment. It is a fact the car will sell for less then you owe thus a deficiency exists.
Send them your normal monthly payment

Ok i was behind my car payment for 2months and the bank came and took the car. Yes i had accumulated a lot of late fee,but i heard of worse situations without a repo. Anyway i owe around 10,000 on the dot with everything maybe less. So they auctioned the car,and actually made a profit where they sent me a check for the difference. My whole thing is now that its payed in full does it come off my credit report,can I get it removed or what can I do.

Answer by Jackles In my country… regardless of the outcome… once you are on the bad debtors list, you are stuck there for 5 years.
