Question by bugzy2284: where can I find a good auto auction?
I am going to be getting a sum of money next month which I plan on using to buy a vehicle. I have decided that I want a dodge durango ideally with 90 to 110 thousand miles. Does anyone know how I can go about finding a decent auto auction, are there any online auction sites? I have come across a couple of sites which make you pay for a membership are those legit? any info that anyone can give me on purchasing repossessed vehicles would be much appreciated.

99%+ of all repos are sold at dealer only auctions.

Impound auctions tend to be cars left on the side of the road, without keys that are towed. The impound yard then sells them when people don’t come pay the towing & storage bill. They usually don’t have keys and have big problems.

Most cars sold at impound auctions are to junkyards.

Auctions are no place for the clueless and you are clueless. (No disrespect intended)

I need a new car but I cannot afford much of a car payment at this time. A friend suggested that I try a car auction. I know very little about how a car auction works but I am “researching”. Is this really a good way to go or are there too many risk for someone who has not a clue about a car engine.

I have a couple family members who have suggested buying Salvage title cars after them doing so already. I don’t really want to take the risk of buying salvage so I was wondering about Government Car Auctions and where would be a good place to start out. Thanks!

I buy at auction most every week,the trick is to get the latest modle vehical you can with the lowest mls you can.And always buy from an insurance rated car auction.Like state farm or farmers,my have to do some body work or repair .but rest asured the vehical was running when it was put in auction,Unless otherwise stated at auction.

i am shoping for my first car. i am trying auctions cause they are pretty cheap…i need a truck tho no cars…any good auctions near sacromento CA..

i live in orange county california and want to buy a mini cooper…a friend told me of these auctions and how great they are and how you can get cars for much cheaper than normal…are there a lot of auctions down here and are they safe to buy from? my friends relative will be going with me since he does this stuff all of the time.

also, are there any sites I can look on that will have cars available and up for auction? thanks!
