Question by drr0711: Should I be suspicious of car dealers that buy cars from auctions and then re-sell them?
I’m looking at a 2002 dodge neon from a dealer and they get their cars from auctions. This car is also selling for 2900 when the blue book value is about 4500.
Is it ok to buy this car?
It looks well and runs well, but should there be anything for me to be worried about?

Answer by rotus All used car dealers get at least some, if not all of their cars from the auctions. There is nothing for you to be worried about in that respect.
I would have a private mechanic take a look at that car before you buy it. They will probably cost you $ 50, You can also ask the dealer for the carfax of the Neon. If the car has a salvage title, I would not buy it.
Question by Melonball: How can I find car auctions?
Northeast United States, please. How can I look up dates and location? Even any general auctions that they might have cars at is fine.

Answer by Karim Bekkouche Just google Car Auctions + your city or zip code. That should bring you plenty. But be careful. They tend to pump the prices way high so you always think that you made a deal. Best thing to do is go early, call someone who is sitting next to a pc and check the actual value by using www.kbb.com ( kelly blue book. Then on the sheet they give you, put your remarks.
Good luck!
Question by rarejaykickz: Does anyone know where to go for public car auctions in Columbus, OH?
I’m looking for a car auction to get a car for myself where they sell newer models of cars (like years 1999-present). I just moved to ohio and don’t know of any auction places for a good car. I was searching Manheim public autions but it seems those type of cars would be way out of my budget. Can anyone help me please?

Answer by Vegas Matt There’s one at the corner of Rt 104 and Stringtown Rd. I think the address is actually Grove City. To get there, take 71 South from Columbus, get off on Stringtown Rd., turn left (east), and drive until you run into 104. Turn left and it will be on the left side.
