Should I be suspicious of car dealers that buy cars from auctions and then re-sell them?

January 20th, 2012 Gary 5 comments

Question by drr0711: Should I be suspicious of car dealers that buy cars from auctions and then re-sell them?
I’m looking at a 2002 dodge neon from a dealer and they get their cars from auctions. This car is also selling for 2900 when the blue book value is about 4500.
Is it ok to buy this car?
It looks well and runs well, but should there be anything for me to be worried about?

All used car dealers get at least some, if not all of their cars from the auctions. There is nothing for you to be worried about in that respect.

I would have a private mechanic take a look at that car before you buy it. They will probably cost you $ 50, You can also ask the dealer for the carfax of the Neon. If the car has a salvage title, I would not buy it.
